Teaching Philosophy

My goal is for every student to feel confident in their playing and excited to grow as a musician. As a violinist, I was trained in the Suzuki method from age six through high school. I value its ability to mirror the natural learning process while building strong note-reading skills for long-term success.

As a Suzuki-trained teacher, I combine this foundation with a modern, flexible approach. I understand that students and families lead busy lives, and lessons should enrich their routines, not add stress. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student’s goals, whether that’s college preparation, region auditions, or support for school orchestra. In lessons, students may work on their suzuki pieces, school concert pieces, or even other genres such as fiddle music or pop. My goal is for every student to feel proud of their playing and to experience the joy that comes with learning and growing as a musician.
